GMC/GMD Registration
In the United Kingdom (UK) you must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) before being allowed to practice medicine. The GMC regulation requires foreign doctors to undertake the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) exam before practicing medicine in the United Kingdom or undertake any NHS job. GMC registration is obtainable either by sitting for the PLAB exam or through obtaining a higher qualification such as MRCP. International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
